I've just recently gotten back into roll searching after a self-imposed sabbatical of a few months (burnout!). Instead of nickels I decided to start with cents. There was one bank in the city I used to go to frequently because they were very small (all of the tellers sit at desks to conduct business) and it was a very affluent neighborhood. They rarely got boxes from the Fed, even though they were a branch of a very large bank (Chase) so most of their coin was provided by the locals. In the past I had done well here, and I had a great relationship with all of the tellers. But two weeks ago produced a SUPER roll! Went back immediately after finding this roll, because I was thinking somebody must have dumped a set. But it turns out I had purchased all they had. Oh well, I'm pretty happy with what I did get! First thing I did was flip over that 1909s, but alas, no VDB. But no complaints; even though they all looked a little rough. For face value, who cares! The roll contained 34 wheats, and nothing dated after 1980.

great finds--- if only that was a part of a bigger coin dump! Did you ask for any other denominations? Might have been some rolls o' silver.

Geepers CND ... you really pulled a 1909-S from a bank roll. That would be the find of my lifetime ... and you mix it in with those other great finds ... as if no big deal. Show us some photos of that coin ... both obverse and reverse ... so we can drool a bit. David

Nice hearing from you, David! Here goes with some better pics. Tough to do; this poor coin has been so overcleaned it's almost a sin. The mark that looks like a fingerprint over the date actually look like they are marks made by some kind of whizzing tool; they are permanently in the coin. But like I said before, this cost me one cent, so few complaints!

OK ... I promised ... and you delivered ... sooooo Great find CND ... even with all that damage. Hoping that you are well ... and soon to be recovered from your roll-search burnout. Finds like this should indeed help. David

Whoa! Nice haul! I would throw that '09 s in the window sill for about a year and let it retone.
