Poll Question
I like them because they have some silver in them, and a lot of times, you can find them for a good price.

Poll Choices
As long as it has silver, I buy them.
I don't like them very much. They're only 35% silver.
I would like them more if they were 50% silver/50% copper.
I like them but don't buy them at a premium.
I only keep them if I find them from coin hunting.
I don't like them. They should all be melted down.
I have way too many to count.
More than one option (specify which ones)

None of the above ... I love them but only if they are free of carbon spots and scratches or dings. I like high grade ones or those that are circulated varieties such as the 1943/2 P, 1943 P doubled eye, 1945 P doubled die reverse and strong re-punched mintmarks. I actually don't care for circulated ones under XF at all and save them to sell for bullion in lots.

In Australia they are usually found in EF or better. That is why I like them.

You missed the mark IMHO on your questions TheDanMan ... neglected to ask if we enjoy them in higher grades ... which I do.

These are spectacular beauties in high MS grade ... the best coins IMHO the Jefferson series has to offer in truly original high MS.

I have enjoyed every minute of pulling together my PCGS MSFS set of these 11 coins ...

Gotta love those bright silver MS lovelies.

For some reason I am addicted to them. I only have around 25 rolls of them but I am always trying to get more.
I would love to be able to get the high MS ones, but for now the budget is just supports common circulated ones.

I didn't care much for them until recently. I got a beautiful MS 1943P in a batch of coins I bought. Since then, I've found most of the Jefferson series from roll hunting. It's still the best looking one!

All of mine were pulled from circulation with the best put in my Jefferson folder. I sold about $5 of them on the bay when silver was in the forties. I will be looking for a nice MS example for a 7070 set (whenever I can find an album).

"More than one option"......me too

At different times, I'm an avid roll searcher. (I take breaks that might last a couple months or so ! ...)
And I ALWAYS get excited when I find a War Nickel, no matter what condition it's in.
I don't collect coins or "hoard" certain coins because of their "silver content" per say.

But I've also purchased high grade War Nickels for my Dansco....."circulation grade levels" just wouldn't do for that nice lookin' album ! .... No No No

It's just VERY similar to the same reason I like Wheat Cents.....and I have the same excitement level when I find one of those roll hunting....or in daily pocket change.
There's no "silver" here.....so that's kind of what I mean, "silver" just is NOT the primary hunting/collecting reason for me.

I will always "hoard" common Wheat Cents, common circulated War Nickels......just because I LUV em' and want to collect em'.

I obviously like the ones in my Jefferson nickel Dansco album.

If I find one in change or roll hunting, it is a keeper.

I do not advocate melting them for any reason.

I never gave them much thought until seeing some of the beautiful ones nickelsearcher and nickel guy and others started posting.

That made me start looking and get a BU set a couple of months ago.

Now when I'm worn out from penny roll searching, I get nickel boxes. Already put together some nice circulated/uncirculated sets for my sons and nephews.

The War ones sure are purty!
