Just sold a few large lots of paper money to a few buyers on ebay. Most of them went well, but I had one customer return a lot of Series 1935 Silver Certificates with 4 star notes. I reimbursed him for the return shipping, plus a little extra.

Finally went through the returned package last night, it was ALL junk notes, most of them not even 1935s, now it's more than half 1957 and of course, it's short 4 star notes.

Customer says I must've forgot to include the star notes, but hasn't yet explained where more than half the 1935s went.

ebay will side with customer because there is tracking for the return shipping, very frustrating!

If ebay name dkhusk ever bids, block them fast!

Is there a bad ebay CUSTOMER list on CCF?

That is really horrible, sorry to hear that. I've had a few bad ones like that too- switch coins out upon return. There is no recourse for seller other than blocking, I think.

You know best what you sent them--are you going to leave a neg feedback?
I would carefully watch this seller to see if your notes are put up for sale

DVCollector, I am the seller and am not allowed to leave negatives for buyers. I leave positives for my buyers the day they pay for the item. The customer got the product, but returned it.

I accept returns, and got the package back. The majority of the items had been swapped for lower quality and not even the same series I sent them in the first place.

I should clarify, they claim I (the seller) didn't include the star notes in the first place.

Thanks, now I understand--and I have to wonder if the buyer is gaming the feedback system--because they've bought a lot of currency.
I also understand how the difference between what you sent and received is like night and day--bummer!

Did you, by chance, record the serial numbers prior to sending them?

If so, report them to the police department in the city where the buyer lives. Contact the local PD there. Also, if you used US Mail, contact them....they really do like to prosecute. :)

Hey! That's my ebay username! This seller is impugning my good name. I have my lawyer on speed dial, mister! I'll see you in court. Prepare to open your checkbook. Just kidding, rjkingston. I like your idea of a bad buyer list but I doubt the site would go for it. He said, she said, and all... and the legal issues that could arise from said list. You never know. We live in a society that's in love with litigation.

ebay has a blocked bidder list. Like they run everything else, they managed to lose hundreds of users' lists and had no backups.

Then, with the ultimate chutzpa, they blamed their incompetence on the users, saying they should have backed up their own lists.

This is why I do not sell on E-Bay anymore. No protection for the buyer. The protection needs to be balanced to protect both. It's really sad a few bad apples ruins the whole system.

There was no option to refund after the returned item comes back first?

Open a claim, take pictures, press the issue. If this guy had done it with you it's a good shot they've done it before.

Do you have to refund the money and shipping cost before you receive the merchandise back? I would think that after you get it back from the buyer then if all is ok you refund. That is the only way I would do a refund. Just sayin......

I had one woman from a poor part of my city buy coins from me and then return them. Only what she returned wasnt what I sent her. Paypal and ebay sided with her because she used registered post for return.

Bet bit is: A WEEK LATER SHE LISTED THE COINS FOR SALE SHE STOLE FROM ME!

I was so mad but had to put it down to bad luck.
