1. Please grade.
2. Please put a value at which you think is a reasonable price to pay for this coin.

Like my 1932 D I also have posted, I know this was slabbed, broken out, and dipped. I need ideas of what value people would pay for something like this.

Thanks

I just saw the extra info on both coins.
What was the grade before the breaking out and dipping?

Oops - I did not get the NGC number on this one so I am not sure. I know that he had it graded as AU on the 2X2. I had asked him why he would break the coins out of slabs since I thought slabbed ones brought better prices. He told me these were coins listed as having problems that he got from Heritage online auction. He said he broke them out, dipped them to get rid of toning, and that he can make a profit this way.

I know he is a very respected dealer in this area, and also very honest and upfront with all info like this. So I truly believe he is just trying to run his business. But I am wondering if ti is time I try to eliminate the middle man when it comes to nicer coins. I am trying to learn enough to do this.

i was under the impression, from the last year of being on this forum, that dipping was a big non-no. Bit when I asked about this specifically in another thread, I was told on a coin like this it does not matter all that much.

I am okay with buying dipped coins as long as it is undetectable though I would prefer undipped. It appears the dip did not affect the luster all that much but repeated dips with affect the luster. The coin appears to be around a AU-53/55 and on Heritage examples generally sell for around $175-225. Those labeled as cleaned, generally sell for $130-180.
