I opened a mint box of Kennedy halves and one has these circles on the obverse side. It's so cool looking that I thought I'd share it. Better in person though because as I tilt the coin the light races around the coin's circles.

Hmmm, could be some kind of die polishing but it's so perfect looking it might be lathe lines.

Those are certainly concentric lathe lines. I have only that 1990 Kennedy listed on my site - would certainly add this one if I could see it.

Jason, wow sounds great.

Well, now that it's gone from I think it's neat to perhaps a rare item I need to know if it's something valuable that has to be taken care of properly or insured during mailing.
Is this something that should be eventually graded?

John1: Sorry I didn't thank you. Thank you. I think that jcuve is the owner of the site you linked to. That is why I replied to him. No slight intended.

I would just send it in a padded envelope with a tracking number. I will send it back the same way. I'm not sure who would grade and slab as an error specifically as I have yet to see one slabbed. PM for my contact info and address.

Jason, I haven't been a member long enough to PM others yet. I sent an email to the address on your site instead.
