Earle42, I had the same thought.


It is cool looking, no matter the cause. I wonder how it will look in the years to come...maybe these marks will change....

If it is indeed soap, the chemistry of the soap will tarnish the coin faster than the rest..so the circles will continue to darken faster than the rest of the coin, so over time the effect will get more dramatic
