"Polished To Death" might be a bit more accurate

The reverse has literally been polished off the coin.

Check out his other "Cleaned" coins.

Ha, yeah once you can use it as a mirror, cleaned is thrown
out the window.
There are several youtube videos of guys saying, "nobody wants dirty, grimey coins, so what I do is....."
Toothpaste, cleanser, brasso, the list goes on.

Looks like something my wife would do. That's why I keep my coin collection where she can't get to it.

Sure hope no newbie's view the coins from that seller, it may turn them off to coin collecting, especially if that's the first site they come across on e-bay!

In its own peculiar way, its a bit of a work of art.

Hopefully, a common date.

I clean lots of my silver coins. Tar and feather me! I almost entirely collect for silver content, not for numismatic value. I don't "clean" like this guy does, however.

It would be kind of cool to have one of these as a novelty. Only on a common date though and on a coin where the date isn't already worn/polished off already. Mabye on a coin with an ugly mark or bad stain on it that makes it undesired. I would NEVER want this done to a rare date or on a common coin that looks good already. I wouldn't pay much for one of these though (certainly not anywhere close to an uncleaned example)
