How about a shot of the obverse.It could be lamination peeled before striking or impact damage to planchet before striking.

I dont see anything on the obverse. The depression is behind the lettering so it was stamped over that. Here's the front...

Those are die dents. I've got a few like that. Nothing major. Nothing has separated like a limination. The look more interesting when you turn them 90 degrees and take images of them rotate then back to horizontal. The light enhances these.

Feeder finger in the minting press scraping the die causing damage. All subsequent coins are minted with this issue evident. They have no premium value.

Mr. Cooper and Mr.Daughtrey maybe I'm about to learn something new but 52Raymo said it was a "depression". I thought a "die dent" and Feeder Finger Damage would leave a raised mark on the coin.

There are actually two raised areas, which leaves the normal field between them looking like a depression. Note the shallow lettering away from the center of the design in the two "raised" areas. That's a prime indicator that some of the die has been scraped away there.
