Feeder fingers are metal doohickeys that feed planchets into the press and/or eject newly minted coins. Sometimes they scrape across the die and leave this sort of damage, which gets transferred to subsequent coins. It's fairly common, but I keep nice dramatic examples like this.

I've started putting the ones I find in a tube in case I need images of one later on. It has about 15 in the tube so far. Set things aside for educational purposes. You never know when you need an image of something. I have several tubes for different things.

I subscribe to James Bucki Newsletter re coin topics and news and was scrolling through various articles and saw this.

This was new info for me as I hadn't known about roller marks and adjustment marks. Very interesting and thought I would share.
