"Small Cent 1994 1DER-050T ANACS 58 BN"
I saw this on Teletrade for next Sunday sales and was wondering what does the "1DER-050T" mean on an ANACS certified coin. Been collecting slabbed Lincolns for quite a few years but have never saw this variation. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the info. I take it that "DER" means derivitate and "050T" is like a VAM number. Did I get it right? Dont have many ANACS slabs except in my Morgans, most of my Lincolns are PCGS registry stuff, so I never came across it before. You guys are great. Thanks again. edgman/Tom R

Seems that ANACS started doing these "trail dies" in 2010. I have never seen one on a PCGS or NGC slabbed coin. Is it just ANACS only doing this? As the thread above me said "One more thing to look for". Start going through the rolls again. The Trail Dies URL was an interesting site.
Thanks again

What ever "flips your coin" is worth looking for. Personally, I do not even bother with trail dies or these wavy steps etc. but a lot of people collect them.

edgman:I believe the "DE" refers to "Die extension" anomaly, the "R" is "reverse", the 050( or any three digits) is the die number, and the "T" refers to it being a trail die vs. a "WS" for wavy steps or WST for a combo wavy steps with trails.

Wow, DrDon "Thank You" that was what you call a real specific explanation. What are they going to find next. I though I had seen enough when they started counting the number of leaves or branches on a tree with the new State Quarters. Think it was Minnesota where the dies had a different number of branches on the tree. Reminds me of the 7 or 8 tail feather VAM on a Morgan dollar. Really getting an education here. Thanks again edgman/Tom R
