I spend most every Saturday morning hitting the local yard sales. Usually with no success. Sometimes find a few video games for my son but that's about it. One I went to today the guy had a lot of coins. Mostly Presidential and SBA dollars, and that junk that you buy from those full-page Sunday newspaper ads (those "Gold Buffalos" for $9.99 each; stuff like that). He had a box with a bunch of Kennedys and Ikes. Maybe a dozen Ikes, and this one stood out. A silver 1974S cracked out of a blue pack. Asked the guy the price' $2 later it was mine! Left there with a smile on my face. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Edited by copper nickel daddy 08/18/2012 1:51 pm

Went to a yard sale that had coins a few weeks ago but the guy was selling everything at a huge premium. he told me that he needed to get rid of all of his coins made an offer but he said it was too low. I think he was to attached to them to actually let them go. At least you got a nice buy!

I used to love garage/yard/estate sales. But lately almost all have been kids clothing. You did great.

Besides kids clothing and tot toys, it is cheap glassware or worn utensils.
Once in a blue moon there's some people selling really over priced worn coins.

I also check out yard sales on weekends with my girlfriend. I made a rule early on: if I can see a baby pram for sale before I get out the car then I keep on driving.

My fiancee and I hit a towns yard sale yesterday. There were probably about 30-40 yard sales. I had high hopes of finding some coins or firearms...NOPE. People sell trash these days it seems. Lol. They have junk and want to charge you for its weight in gold.

Quote: Are you not feeling the bit guilty? Heck no! I asked him his price. Held the coin up about five feet away from the guy and said "How much for the Ike". He said $2; Mine!
