After leaving the sports card industry a couple of months back, I decided to pursue what had always intrigued me...COINS! Sorry for the poor quality of pics taken. They do not do this coin justice! Although hard to tell from my iPhone pictures, he detail on this piece is phenomenal. "Liberty" on the head band is hard to read at this angle, but trust me, it's as clear and visable as one would expect in an NGC64 holder... The shop had it at 490.00 but went down to 460.00. Figured at that price I couldn't pass it up, especially for an MS64 Carson City and basically my first coin. Have really taken a liking to these beautiful coins. Great piece of history behind them as well. So, my first big purchase so far was this fine piece of Silver: Can't wait to get more! Thanks for the comments and replies in advance. to the CCF. What a great coin for your debut post. Fair price as well ... Greysheet (a dealers price guide) lists this at $450 "Bid" and $490 "Ask" ... in other words ... you got a fair deal on a tremendous example of USA coinage history. David

Great coin, congrats. But just so you are aware, it is not a "1978 Morgan", those are really rare. Welcome!

The 1978 Morgans aren't that rare. I have a guy in China that can hook you up.

Welcome!! Great coin! I love CC's!! There my soft spot, along with 3 cents. My first "real coins" we're also CC's, but GSA's, left by my grandfather (1882, 83 & 84) and I've been hooked since! Soooo addicting!!
On a side note how do you upload photos from your iPhone? Mine won't let me...

Great start to a great hobby. I have always liked CC dollars and they have always been in high demand. Now are you going to move on to the 1879CC?
