I did the ol' Coinstar skunker today while doing my Saturday bank coin runs... 11 machines and NOTHING but a watch battery! Found 2 cents on the pavement, and that was it for my free money.

Not skunked today; found a 1953 d dime! It was at the king soopers at 1331 Speer Blvd, which is a 0.4 mile drive from the denver mint. for those of you keeping track at home, it moved an average of 33 feet per year in 64 years from being made until I found it, if you look at it that way.

Illegaltender, are you also on the Where's George website? The way you worded that statement sounds an awful lot like the way the bill tracking reports are worded.

Happy Easter, all! I went to the local CVS this morning to pick up some medication only to find the pharmacy closed for Easter... no coins in the CoinStar... made the short walk over to the VONS supermarket and saw a man there with a small amount of change getting ready to dump it in... he put it in and was quickly done, save for a dime which wouldn't go through... I asked him if the coin was foreign and said it should go through if it wasn't... Then he started saying he hoped he would find a silver dime - like a Mercury dime... then he let me pick the coin out of the reject bin, and sure enough it was a 1964-D... I told him it was silver worth about $1.30 and he should definitely keep it... then we started talking and he got fascinated with my interest in coins... he said his Mother had recently passed away and that she had some silver and other coins he was keeping. Long story short is he said "here, have it... you're obviously really into this stuff."

Got some luck today at Walmart; where I've never had ANY luck before. I got $1 even today: One Standing Liberty quarter (date and/or mint-mark unreadable), one 1997 Washington quarters, one 2006 Canadian quarter, one 1960 Roosevelt dime, one 2006 Jefferson nickel, one 1977 Canadian nickel, one 1943 steel Lincoln Penny, two Memorial cents, one Shield cent, one Canadian cent (1960), and finally one Caesarland token! Feeling lucky, I stopped at two grocery stores on the way home and didn't even find any dust in their machines.
