Yesterday when I walked into a store, there was a green metal box on the counter of the coinstar. I checked the reject slot, the tray, and under the machine, (Late evening, store pretty empty, and then opened the box because sometimes people leave a few coins in the container they brought them in. Upon opening the box, I could tell there was some good stuff in there, with different sized copper and silver colored coins, but didn't know what to expect. I believe they likely dumped the rejects in the box when they were done and abandoned them there. I didn't want to rifle around in it in the store, so I grabbed it and took it home. The coins were from 9 countries, and there was a cool token that i'll get to.
USA:
2000 D penny
1941 penny
1951 D dime
Canada:
1968 Dime
1968 Quarter
1957 Nickel
1943 Tombac Victory nickel- Iv'e been considering buying one!
Philippines:
1971 Limampung sentimos
Brasil:
1937 300 reis
France:
1924 chambres de commerce de france bon por 2 francs
I thought this was a token but turns out it's a coin.
Italy:
1939 10 centesimi
Mexico:
1942 10 centavos
1945 5 centavos
Uk:
1927 British penny
Switzerland:
1892 5 Rappen. This is in excellent shape, and does not look like 125 years old at all! It's at least AU!
The token is from the V.F.W. National home, for Christmas 1934. On the back there is a horseshoe and some 4 leaf clovers and says Help the kiddies. It wishes good luck and health in 1935.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I'm really excited!

Today, TreePaad token (Malta, NY) and a 1947 P nickel. Also, one of my regular stops where I never find so much as a dead zincoln? There is a camper, I've met him three times, just hangs around the machine. Creepy!

Today I found twelve of the ugliest, dirtiest, stickiest Lincoln Memorial pennies I've ever seen. I threw two of them away due to them missing about 30% of their intended metal. The others I threw at my cement driveway to separate the ones stuck together.

It's probably the first time I felt sorry for finding free money.

Yesterday, I found 48 perfectly fine Lincoln cents, two foreign coins, and a piece of a rotted zincoln.

The good Lincolns were probably rejected because some were stuck together and the rest were sticky with some unknown substance, but probably something like dried soda pop.

That plastic penny is probably worth more than a penny.

My wife was at Krogers yesterday and found 2 no cash value tokens 3 zincolns and best of all a really nice 1969-s proof. I would have liked to seen her find them as she hates me checking in the machine when I am with her. So she walks by and thinks I should look and she sees the coins in there and says to herself "great" (hoping there were none in there) there's coins in there I hope nobody's watching me. Now she's probably hooked!

You've had some very nice hauls recently, Illegaltender!

I wonder who's dumping all these foreign coins?

Whenever there's a plastic bag left on the counter, that's always a good sign. Sure enough, there was a handful of change in the reject slot, so I grabbed it and got 64 cents and a Planet Fitness token.
