I get the opportunity to check any kind of coinstar once or twice a month, so I haven't really found much. I popped into a Safeway while I was shopping next door, and found $0.50 in the reject slot: a quarter, two dimes, and a nickel. However one of the dimes is a worn 1968 which is made of 50% silver.   |

Nice dime, Shoeplier! Today my dad found: 1941 Wheat penny1961 d dime 1964 d quarter 1969 canadian dime euro 10 cents from austria and 2 from germany french 10 francs 1991 2011 canadian quarter euro 20 cents from france, spain, and greece. Then on my circut tonight, I found a 1963 d dime at the same coinstar! I also found 64 cents at other machines. All in all, a fantastic day!  |

The other day my wife found US$2.35 (with two 1940S cents),£1.34, CAD$0.50, €0.05, and a Trinidad Tobago $0.10. She said it took her three scoops to get it all. No silver though. More interesting US coins. I'd guess we found close to $5.00 more since March. I like that '51D. Very nice considering how long it was in the wild.   When combined with our previous finds, I suspect that if I ever travel to places in the British Empire (or former Empire) I will be able to buy a paper and a coffee. :)   North American tourism:   I recommend Hershey Park. It's a bit old fashioned and somehow more laid back than most amusement parks. In addition, there are actual shade trees to stand under and get out of the sun. Europe. I rather like the 1950 pfenig. That had to have been one of the first coins issued by the Federal Republic.   I lost patience with my scanning and just slopped these Caribbean and Latin American coins down. Sorry about that.  Edit: Forgot to relate this story. About a month ago I saw a guy at the Coinstar with a big bag of cents and nickels, most of them in wrappers. I offered him face value for the coins. He was nice enough to split the difference of the Coinstar charge with me, so I got $52.50 worth of nickels and cents for $50. Found one Buffalo nickel, two 2009 Lincolns, and four wheaties as well as a raft of copper cents. Edited by BigAppleBucky

$.63 in common US/Canadian change and a nice 2008 GB one penny. The long dry spell is finally over!

Today another silver dime (1961 d), my first polish coin, a greek euro 2 cent, and a squished penny from the space needle.
