I found a couple worthless "coins" the other day. One of them even says so!

On the Coinstar counter:

Former coin found in the parking lot (same trip):

What a shame. It didn't even last one year. I really believe coin lifespan is decreasing with successive generations.

Not sure if it fits in here... I just went out to bring away the trash and noticed in the corner of my eye that there was something made of metal in one out of 2 recycling containers (used by people from about 40 apartments). So after I left my bags down there, I checked and quickly grabbed after a bunch of coins that were lying on top in the container.

After I went back to my apartment I just cleaned them under some warm water and well... 11 US-Dollars recovered from a recycling trash bin in the middle of Berlin :D

I'm wondering if the Germans throw away foreign currency, like I throw away Canadian dollars and the Mexican peso?
