Not me, but my dad found a 1952 s dime today, which puts us at 3 silver dimes for the week.

I would rather have found the Half Dime but, that FEC is up there too!

I can't find it but, didn't a member find a $10 gold eagle in a Coinstar? I found this about a guy finding a 1/10 oz. eagle:

3 obsolete coins now found very recently... y'all are getting my hopes up!

I had hit a very dry streak the past couple of weeks... and then today I go to one of my local supermarkets and see a young (maybe 25-30 YO) oriental woman at the machine dumping coins... as I walk past her, I notice maybe 3 inches behind her on the ground what appeared to me to be a silver dime... sure enough it was a 1964-D... I pick it up and put it in my wallet. I then pull a dime out of my pocket and tell her "I think you dropped this." She thanks me and a few minutes later she's done... She never even checked the reject tray. Three quarters, a dime, 5 zincolns and a foreign (Japanese, I think) coin were in it... and she left a dime in the dump area... So I got $1 AND the silver dime.

Found this tonight along with 22 cents in other U.S. change (updated my totals in the previous post to reflect it)... somehow, I missed that it was a proof at first glance.

Good results do far john! I found a 1943 P War Nickel tonight, the first in over a year. I love those ugly old coins.

Thanks, illegaltender... 25 free silver coins in a year... not bad!

Nice find with the 43-P... is it plated by chance? My 1944-S that I found is plated, and weighs more than the standard 5 grams - likely is the reason it got rejected. Most of the time, War Nickels go through since they're the same weight as a regular nickel.

@John77

I'm sure you do but, make sure whether those quarter proofs are clad or silver (could be either).

Oh yes, I check... I saw the two dimes and excitedly hoped one was silver, so I overlooked the quarter as it looked worn. It wasn't until I got home and pulled it out of my pocket that I realized what I had.

I have yet to find a silver proof other than a 1961 Dime I found in a box. I know people have found silver proof Halves... Hoping it is my turn soon!
