Coinstar Finds! (Including Bank Counters And Other Machines)

Last Afternoons, I went to Coinstar at Walmart that is a reject tray has 1964D Silver Roosevelt dimes and 75¢ Extra Money.

Pulled .37 free money out of a couple of machines. Stopped at one more and got this Roosy. Now on a 2 day silver streak.

How much money in gas did you spend driving around to various coinstars to get your 30 cents?

My grocery has rearranged their store. The Coinstar is now in a high visibility area. My friends this has not deterred me. Found a 1964 Roosevelt dime, a 2005 Canadian dime, and a game token. Good hunting everybody!

The last post of mine I was able to find was Oct 1. (Thought I had a post around yearend, but couldn't find it.) Finally scored silver today. Lady was dumping a big bag of coins as I was checking out of the grocery. On my way to my car, I stopped and bought $20 worth of girlscout cookies (my wife and daughters were big in Scouts back in the 1990's). I chatted with the mother for a while, put all my purchases in my car and then went back in. The lady was still dumping. So I took a direct approach and offered to pay her face for the coins. She either ignored me or didn't understand I was going to give her a bargain.

Anyway a nearby clerk reminded her to pick up her rejects. I scooped them for her and noted that there were a good number of foreign coins in the mix. I offered her a dollar for the foreign coins. I also bought 12 common quarters from her at face since I use them in machines. Finally I noticed a silver dime and gave her a buck for that. Total of $2 for what I would deem "finds".

I would guess that today I got about a third of the foreign coins shown below and the rest since my last posting here. In all €7.48, £1.635, and a pretty big load of other stuff. My first ever Ugandan and Latvian coins.

I would guesstimate about $10 to $15 common US coinage since the last time I posted.







The Roosy is a P. The 1925 was rather nice I thought. That poor banged up thing I can't identify.



Are these from Thailand? Burma? Both?

I also found two different NYC subway tokens (one from the 70's and one from the 90's), an amusement park token and a restroom token from Indiana.

I guess people living nearby me travel much more widely than I do.

Found a Canadian quarter and dime today. It has been a good week after several of skunkiness.
