When my therapist/group and I go shopping (I go to a day program that teaches independent living skills), I always check the coinstar machine. I have so far only found modern change, but hopefully one of these days, I will find something special.

Last Evening, I went to Coinstars at Kroger and Walmart that is reject tray has Two Wheats Cents, 1962D Silver Roosevelt dimes, 2016 5 Euro Cents Belgium, $1.29 Extra Moneys. Wheats Cents1938 1940   Silvers Dimes1962D   Foreigns2016 5 Euro Cents Belgium   HAPPY HUNTING!  |

First silver since March 10. Probably about two dollars of common coinage and 13 Euro-cents since then, and these:  The one penny was from 1976, the ten pence from 2015, and the '64 Roosie was a D. I also forgot to image another 1941 wheatie. I guess those things do tend to be overweight. |

I had some success today! I had checked out Coinstars at both Walmart and Meijer earlier today and found nothing in either one; not even any dust. I later decided to stop at the grocery near my house JUST to check the Coinstar there. I dipped my fingers into the reject box and found a few coins. I didn't look at the stash until I got back to my car. By the 'feel' of the coins I new I had something different in the batch. Lo and behold I was able to finally see what I thought was a large cent was really a rare "Chuck-E-Cheez" token. Not sure if I liked that or the two Lincoln cents as the catch of the day.  |

Today I went and picked up some boxes of halves that I ordered, while out, I checked two coinstars today and got two fist for me. The first coinstar didn't have any coins in the reject but the tray was loaded down with coins with consisted of $1.43 US ( 1-1940 Wheatie) 2- Canadian 25¢ 2006&2015, 1 Canadian 5¢ 1972, 1993 Canadian 1¢, and a 2008 five pence. The second coinstar didn't have any coins but someone had left their coin counting bank   |

I saw the Coin Star worker working on the machine at Kroger last week. I asked him if he checked the reject shoot as he went around to the different machines and he said "no there is never anything left behind" I know he is wrong!(I've found coins several times on the exact machine he was working on)
Imagine if he checked every reject return slot 5 days a week while going from machine to machine! I was shocked at his answer. I bet he would get an extra hours worth of pay most days if he would get in the habit of checking for reject coins.
