Stopped by my "gold guy" after work to chat and see if he had anything interesting for me. He sells me stuff from time to time but usually it is a coin here or there. If I catch him on the right day he has hooked me up huge in the past. Today was no exception and I went home with the following: -12 rolls of mixed wheat cents (unsearched by him) -1900 IH (VF) -1909 IH (MS details, environmental damage) -1909-D Barber quarter (G) -1898-P Barber quarter (G, scratched) -1907-S Barber quarter (G) -1916-D Barber quarter (VF, cleaned) -1883 "V" nickel "NO CENTS" (UNC) -Benjamin Franklin - Franklin Institute - Promotion of Mechanic Arts 1824 pendant/token/medal -1909-S LWC (VF, old cleaning/retoned, mild verdigris) -1931-S LWC (XF, old cleaning/retoned, mild verdigris) Cost: $150 Edited by jerseyben 09/21/2012 10:13 pm

Is a "Gold Guy" someone that buys and sells gold? We have like 20 of em around here. Should I stop in a few and see if I can make a connection with someone who might come by some wierd stuff? And Jerseyben welcome . I'm from Jersey too.

Great deal.. Your 1909S and your '31S are worth more then the money you paid, they both look to be in VF condition.

Schwanke: Absolutely!
I almost always pay wholesale when I buy from him. It is hard to be picky and usually it is problem coins. But I always jump on a deal when one comes around.
