Looking to send to PCGS and would love and appreciate getting some direction regarding this coin. Sorry if the pics are not great... Thanks in advance, Zeev *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

It sure has a funky looking date but other than that it's a really nice coin. I don't know that it would be worth it to slab it, I doubt I would.

Obverse color...there is too many. Should grade MS63....which would make this a $700 IHC. PCGS might give it a jenny - color. But, if it certifies, might sneak by with RB designation.

This coin is fake and I'm quite confident in that. The date on 1871 didn't have a flat base. The numbers are also completely wrong. I'm sure I could find other problems with it if I took a closer look, but that just jumps out immediately. Quote: I don't know that it would be worth it to slab it, I doubt I would. Since its fake, clearly it wouldn't be. However, an 1871 in this condition would be worth a pretty penny, so it would be worth to slab a genuine one.

The date does not look like my humble example, I do not think it is genuine.

Oh, didn't see that link.
And oh my, yeah that date looks completely wrong in any and every way possible. There's no way that thing would grade at PCGS.

I don't know what it is, but I do know what it's not. What it's not is a genuine 1871 Indian Head.

I have fixed the post so the Obverse picture shows now without having to click the link. The Reverse looks close enough to fool me but that date is all over the place

I think its a fake or altered date. Here is my 1871 IHC. Compare the dates.

When I first clicked on this post and saw the date, that's all I needed. Hope you didn't pay too much. More than likely of Chinese origin.

It's strange how they did such a good job but it looks like they didn't even try with the date at all. I only own 1 Indian cent and don't know anything about the series, but when I saw that date it looked way off.
