I don't know, it worries me that they don't have a close-up of the date. I believe overdates do exist, but I would actually want to see the overdate they claim.

Very good information and thanks for the link. It's hard to tell from the CL photo, so I will stay away.

First off look at the coin he posted. If he is saying that coin is EF then I would stay away from it.

It's hard to tell from the poor photo but that appears to be the very common die break that looks a lot like the overdate.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

From the image I can't confirm it is the overdate and he calls it an XF when it is closer to a G-VG. Even if it is the overdate it wouldn't be worth anywhere near what he is asking.

Quote:$500 USD, It will be real hard to find a War Nickel as mint as mine, and as near un-circulated in condition as this one up for sale! Except for the dozens that I have found from roll hunting and paid a maximum of 5 cents each... I think he does and hes just trying to get way more than its worth hence why hes selling it on CL

You just know something's up when the writeup is far more detailed than the actual photos of the coin. I cherrypick ebay for varieties--and analyze a lot of blurry photographs for something missed. In this case, I have blown up the seller's picture against a worn example from CCF and an MS 1943/2 diagnostic pic from PCGS. The seller's coin is battered in the date area, but something that normally survives is the diagonal crossbar of the "2", which the seller's coin lacks completely. For all that bluster--no overdate!
