Anyone else having a hard time sticking to their self imposed coin purchasing hiatus over the holidays ? With three kids and many relatives, I decided to buy nothing for myself this holiday season. I really need to stay off ebay, and out of the LCS for the rest of the month

Bar one coin book at coin club, I haven't purchased anything numismatic in two months...
It's easier to do when you are in school... with the amount of homework they give....

Aarggg.. I tell myself not to look on ebay.. don't look at the coins I need to fill holes... doesn't work... I keep a list of the ones I'm missing on the desk... got to get rid of that!

I'm ok with ebay... but if I go in the lcs and put the coin in my hand, well then all the resolve is gone. I am ready for the new year so I won't feel guilty about my habit!

Im trying very hard.....but its so hard. just so used to being able to browse and pick something here and there. At least something a week and now its been like 4 weeks with the exception of my 1921 dime I picked up. Waiting on another CCF member about possible trade or purchase...whatever happens there will be the last thing until sometime after the new year I think. See how things go.

I was doing real well until yesterday when I got an inchin' for silver. Funny how I always walk out with more than I intended when I visit the LCS.

I've been on a pretty tight budget since September after a particularly nice but expensive vacation and with Christmas coming up, I may not be able to buy much until Feb or March! Bleah.
However, I do need to grab a couple things on the U.S. Mint's "Last Chance" bin so I'll probably make a few exceptions and just deal with it.

I was resisting getting a PayPal account, but finally got one earlier this month. I don't have an ebay account. I don't plan on getting one, so my money is "relatively" safe.

My 09 S VDB purchase put a crimp in my purchasing budget, so, any time I have the itch, I take the slab out of the safe, drool a little, then close the safe again.
BUT, I did by my younger brother a 1 oz Mexican silver piece. He rides quads and dirtbikes in the dunes of southern California and thought it might be prudent for him to carry a little trading material should things go sideways on him.

What hiatus? (I'm glad I decided to opt out of Christmas some 40 years ago.)
