I decided to begin sorting my Lincoln cents by dates. So far I have 1934-1948, 1951-1960, 1986-1997, and 1999-2005.

Complete mint mark dates: 1943 steel, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1951, and 1955.

Dates missing one mint mark: 1936, 1942, 1947, 1948, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1957, 1979, 1983, 1984, 1990, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2004, and 2008.

Discovered while searching through collection: a possible 1948 S proof Lincoln Wheat penny.

So how complete is your collection and have you found any unique pennies while sorting out the dates?

I lack the 1909-s, 1909-svdb, 1914-d, 1924-d, 1931-s and a few teens semi-keys. Oh and the 1922 no D. I hate that hole!

Complete but no double-dies or overdates. The 09-SVDB is only a G4 and the 22 Plain is F12 (corroded) but its complete. Bought the 09-SVDB on layaway over 4 months.

Most of my wheat cents came out of circulation from about 1953-1963. I had to buy a few key dates in G-VG condition a few years ago, and I"m still missing the biggie - the 1909-S VDB. Still looking for a really good deal on one.

10 Whitman Albums all full. Not all are complete with all coins though. #1 and #2 are all MS including 22plain, 55, 72 and 95 Doubled Dies. #3 and #4 are mixed with MS and UNC. #5, #6 and #7 just basically all Circulated grades. #8 and #9 have no Proofs of any kind. #10 is a all Small Cents from 1856 to present all in one Whitman Album and too, no proofs, no error coins, no varieties such as large and small dates. Just to many. Might be a good time to get rid of them and start over.
