Just found this coin yesterday but not sure what is the dot between AUSTRALIA and 2010. Could it be something stick on the coin? How do you think?

Another one is a 1985 one dollar which missed 1 from 1985. Though it is perfectly missed, I believe it is a PMD. I will keep it for fun any way.

@Trout

I don't understand it either...

I think it is because they were stuck in another year...

Looks like a little Cud to me.

The dollar looks like a Grease Filled Die. Check with a loupe if you can see any scratches around the area. If not the it is not PMD and Grease Fill. It happens a bit. I pprobably have 10 Aussie decimal coins of different denominations that have one or more digits missing from the obverse legends.

I am happy to call it a filled die and not PMD.

Yeah, I've never found any errors using a louse.

Sorry denny5! Trout led me astray!

I agree the $1 is due to a filled die, the 10c could be a small Cud, Can you post a nice close up picture of it?

Must be something in the water ..... I saw this as a 20c piece too .... perhaps the 2010 was the cause ....
At least we've finally found the reason for the

..... it's the darn louse we've been using .......
sorry denny5, just had to.
Nice couple of errors by the way

that's a nice looking "dot" - probably a Cud, but I'd like to see a close-up before pigeon-holing it.

Hi Nancy and Trout, I have been planning the USB gizmo for some time after I saw Nancy's post about it. I mentioned it to my son, however, my eight years old son didn't understand it quite well, at lease I know so far. Probably a real surprise? Or I need to buy one by myself?

My experience with kids is give them a new piece of technology and before you can blink they're operating it like a pro.

If you can afford it and your son is at all interested in helping you with the coins, I'd say go ahead and buy one. If you have any problems, by all means contact me and I'll try to talk you through it. Trust me, if I find it's easy to use, then it really is easy to use! I'm 69 and I don't learn new things easily any more, plus I'm not very technically inclined.

I have a Kaiser Baas, but a word of warning, I'm on my third one so far since Boxing Day last year. They were 'burning' out or something, so it might pay to get a different brand. I did get my money back on the first 2, and then purchased another each time as they do have a 12 Month warranty, got all of them from Harvey Norman. Good luck!

The dot on the 10c might be a Cud, or a gas bubble, either way it's at least a conversation piece. The missing 1 on the dollar will be due to a Grease Filled Die in that particular spot.
