Possibly the most common "exotic" USA type coin, you see a lot of these Large Motto pieces on this site and elsewhere. I picked this one out because of the striking tone. That tone however does make it hard to image. These photos are reasonably true-to-life. How do you think NGC graded it, and what grade do you think it deserves? These of course are not exactly the same question!

Great looking coin, Jaobler. I would say it at least deserves a AU-50, It is quite hard to tell with the wood grain texture, be better if it was in hand.

Nice coin, looks MS-63RB to me but never know what a TPG will come up with, hard to second guess them.

I am thinking MS63RB as well. Sweet looking "Little Deuce" (meaning in comparison to it's Big Brother the Two Dollar Bill).

Aside what looks like a little rough patch to the right of the 2, I could see this coin making its' date as a grade.

MS-64RB easy enough, not enough of a great strike to go 65 IMO.

Quote: Aside what looks like a little rough patch to the right of the 2 That area is not actually rough but it does look that way in the first image. Here's another shot through my new macro lens (Merry Christmas!). The coin actually has full cartwheel luster on both sides but so far I just can't capture it. I suppose I should change my image file names so they don't include the TPG grade (not that any CCF graders would peek! ).

Nice coin! And I didn't peak! I've been searching that date and exact grade for my 7070, so I've seen quite a few.
