I wouldn't due to there being 5 captain cook coins, if they were all early C.O.A i'd say go for it

I would agree that it's not worth it if there are that many 1970 50c pieces. If you can get the 1971 for a good price I'd go for it.

I would say about $55 to $60 would be a fair price. But, the four Cooks together look like "tilted 7" variety (hard to be sure with the photo size) and they are less common than the normal variety.
Catalogue value, assuming all nice uncirculated condition, is about $135.

They're not worth nothing but they're not worth a lot. My understanding is that they were hoarded to a large extent (which is why you rarely find them in circulation) so pretty much every example you'll find will be EF or better.

The Captain Cook coins that were sold in the plastic holders ARE very collectible. These are "Specimen " coins with a mintage of only 556,888 , The Circulation coins had a mintage of 16,548,100 . These are quite easy to distinguish from the circulation issued coin by the superb finish and quality.

This one is now in transit back to Australia from the USA.Funny thing was when I discovered it the seller had discounted it by 35% because he couldn't sell it so it only cost me $39 which shows that the bargains are out there if we look for them

That a decent price for that coin. It will look good in your collection.
