I just picked up a 1946 Roosevelt dime today. I bought it off of ebay, but it wouldn't take my shipping address. I ended up driving about 20 minutes out of my way today to pick it up. The guy wouldn't even take the money, so it ended up being free. My question is, Is this an error coin? The six is barely visable even though it hasn't been rubbed off. The W in We is actually on the rim. What are your thoughts?

Maybe a slight debris filled die and or Die Deteriorationor both along with normal wear.

But it's still cool because it is really old -- that is, older than me. LOL

You can't tell very well in these pictures, but the rim of the coin is fully intact. There is no wear through that area.

It is not an error. Could be a Grease Filled Die or maybe a slightly weak strike. John1

Hey, for free a nice find. A silver dime plus first year of issue. Personally, I wish they had put Teddy's face on the coin instead.

Alright, so what would everyone grade this one at? I'm still getting my feet wet on grading and I know that I grade higher than I should.

A pic of the reverse would help with a grade, the reverse could be an absolute mess, or really nice

I'm not sure if it is just me, but uploading photos is a bunch of work. Here is the reverse of the coin.
