I have a few key date coins, 1932d Washington, 1950d Jefferson, but until now, I've never had a major key date coin. Well, I recently got married and as a gift to my self, I decided to purchase a nice coin. My options were pretty open, but as my collecting is focused on Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents, I decided to get the big one out of the way. I spent a few weeks looking and searching and found one I am very happy with. It has nice detail and great surfaces. It is graded VG8 by NGC and is CAC approved. The only major one I need now is the 1909s. Here are some pics. The scratches in the pic are on the holder, not the coin. The coin is also a nice medium brown although the pictures make it look like the coin is two different colors.   |

David, CONGRATS to both your major events. The '77 is wonderful. Maybe you can save the 1909-S for the birth of your first child together (if that is the plan, that is)?  |

Congratulations on your wedding. You should have bought the 1909 S as a wedding present for your wife! I think etiquette says you have up to a year after the ceremony to send someone a wedding present...

That looks like a really nice coin. The 1877 is also far tougher, in my opinion, than the 1909-S IHC. |
