Anyone know if regular card board holders come in black?

The Quadrum Lighthouse holders in your other thread do come with black inserts.

I would think that any sort of colouring of the cardboard would be detrimental to the coins.

Yes I'm thinking about these. They look like they would be fairly simple to install and remove coins from.

I'm also considering the Eagle brand holders. As you might image expense is a factor. Ease of use as mentioned as well. Safest on coins the utmost.

That settles my question then. Thank you John1.

PS. I'm sure to have a Lincoln question as I go.

This assuming that the 2 X 2 card stock that is used widely is coin safe. I would believe it to be because of same.

It'd be nice if there were colored 2 X 2's; an inexpensive way to present one's coins. My preference to this is the traditional 2 X 2's in mylar, etc pages resembles a dealers stock book to me.

A darker color might be a nice change. A no go I now know.

Interesting that on ebay there is a set of 4 old Canadian nickels in yellow and green 2X2s. When you look at the pic closely, you can see these are likely old holders b/c of the low prices written on them.

Thanks for sharing the link. These are painted perhaps? I know first hand the work involved and poor results at that. Not to mention the coin friendly nature question of paint.

Wow. Those staples are sure close to the coins. No wonder folks complain about scratching their coins!

Could be painted - I don't know. They just struck me as odd when I saw them. I think it would be great if someone started making various colors.

My company is currently developing colored coin flips (staple closed, 2x2 mylar backed type) which should be available in volume before summer.
I'm planning to do red, blue, green, orange, yellow, and light purple in the standard 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 cent hole sizes.I'm working out pricing with manufacturers right now. The printing would only be on the surface of the outside, the back side being completely mylar covered so there is no detrimental effect on the coins. I'm surprised these haven't been offered before, but I'm doing it.
One question though - wouldn't black be difficult to see the writing against?
There will be an announcement when they are available.
Any suggestions are welcome :)

UV readable ink. That way, you only have to look at the writing when you actually want to read it.

I found some white, fine tipped, paint markers that might work on black holders.
In the mean time I'm still negotiating with suppliers so that I can sell these at low prices. The prices on supplies are just too high, which is part of the reason why I'm launching my own line. Hopefully by late spring/early summer the first of my products will be rolling out.
