Close your eyes
Imagine if computers had been invented in the 1920's.
Imagine if Coincommunity.com had a site during those days.
Imagine all the coins that were in circulation, all the silver and all the gold that you could get your dirty little hands on.
Imagine what all the topics on coincommunity.com would be about.
Open your eyes
Make words on your ancient keyboards.

I was at my local speak easy last night and they wanted a dime for a beer! I was so frustrated by this cost I paid them with 10 of those old Indian penny's I had.

I took my wife to see one of those new-fangled talking pictures. 25 cents admission instead of the usual nickel to see a normal film. I had to use my 1916 quarter with the bare breasted lady on it that I always carried.

I just want to flame here a bit about this stupid trend you may have noticed of calling the Fillet Head coins of 1795-1807 "Draped Bust." What, do you think Liberty's wearing a toga now? The Liberty on the dime in your pocket has wings on her head; what would you idiots call her? Mercury or something? Or do you think if you can call a Fillet Head "Draped Bust" you can get some gullible newbie to shell out four bucks for a 1799 dollar? Sorry, rant over...

I hear some of the 1921 coins are of a lower mintage. Anyone saving any or is it a waste of time?

Received a nice new 1921 fifty-cents in my pay packet today.Should I give it to my grandson as as a birth year gift or should I invest it wisely for him by buying a couple of uncirculated 1857 pennys.

Another one .............. and other one .............. oh Dad and another 1921............ Dad, when are the new 1922 Mercury dimes coming out ? Remember son we only keep ONE from every year, rest go in the new stocks and bonds fund. By 1929 we should be sitting pretty with our stock investments.

I'm saving ten 1909 S VDB rolls for my son because that's the year he was born, and I'm telling him each roll will be worth $10 when he gives them to his future grandchildren. Everyone tells me I'm off my rocker, but who knows right?

1. Is Acetone OK on coins? 2. Will there ever be an on line auction place to buy coins? 3. I'd go to coin shows but some are 20 miles away and with gas for my car at .22/gal, just to much. 4. I think we should all try to get presidents on all out coins. 5. Those dollar coins are just to big. Why not make them smaller?

From the "interesting finds from circulation" thread: I splurged and treated myself to a steak dinner last night at the restaurant downtown; 35 cents for a Tee Bone steak, mashed potatoes, salad, cup of tea, a slice of pecan pie. Got a 1912 V nickel, but I already had that one, so I left it as the tip. The kicker was the dime, 1883 and in great shape too!

While passing through Denver on my way home to Philly I stopped to get some Cents.
As luck would have it they gave me 2 rolls of 1922-P. I can get Philly coins at home so I spent them.

(1921) I just got my first new silver Dollar in ages, and it's still a Morgan Head. I thought they were supposed to do a new design this year...
