Any thoughts on this one?

Dipped 10 times too many?

A dug coin that has become pitted?

A dug coin that was lightly pitted and then dipped 10 times too many?

It looks like a cast fake. A friend has a real full head 24-S slq and it is near perfect and smooth, not grainy

The numbers on the date really say cast fake to me especially,

I hope this turns out to be real for your sake though!

Not my coin but spotted on ebay and the seller had the coin listed on the flip as "cleaned". After cast has been mentioned I think that may be the case since it is a semi key coin.

Looks either cast as mentioned above or somebody took a sand blaster to this poor coin.

The even texture over all of Jack's coin is suggestive of a casting.
What does the edge look like?

If a dug coin I would vote "environmental damage". If found at the beach salt water effect. Dipping wouldn't cause that kind of pitting. Unless dipped in acid.

Why does it not surprise me to see fairtraderz selling this one?
Oh, I remember! Purveyor of problematic coins.

Definitely blasted. Sad thing is that it probably didn't look all that bad before that was done. Silver really doesn't create thick scale. It was probably a strong AU or maybe MS coin before it was ruined.
