I've been trying to clean up my pile of unidentified coins. I have an Uzbekistan 1 tiyin from 1994. There are two types listed in the Krause catalog, KM# 2.1 and KM# 2.2. There is only a picture for one of them. The notes say that there is a large denomination and a small denomination type. I've tried looked at pictures on line but I can't see the difference between the two types. Does anyone have these two coins they can post so I can see the difference?

I don't think Krause has describe the variety properly.

This is the normal "1".

This is called the "pointy 1"

Difference should be very clear. The pointy 1 is significantly harder to find. Some varieties of Uzbekistan's coins can command ridicious prices - easily over hundred dollars.

gxseries: Thank you very much, it is pretty clear now you that pointed it out. I think you are correct that Krause did not describe the variety correctly.

Can't help specifically regarding the 1 but as gxseries pointed out the 'normal' one I think is the large version. In comparison the image of the three is considered the 'small' and it does not come as close to the rim.
