The more coins I look at the more unusual things I see. Is this large-lettered "America" due to over-polishing or something else I have yet to learn about. All opinions are appreciated. In-hand it is easily noticeable. I took a comparison pic with a normal sized "America" to help emphasize the difference. Yes, I have found similar cracks on numerous other LMC's but the extra large font on America is a new one for me. I hope someone will explain it to me...
The reason the letters are reaching the rim is from Die Deterioration. The die wears all devices toward the rim. Just look at the 1955 "So Called" poor man's doubled die.
