I have been watching those as well. Thank you for posting pictures of the coin in hand (vs marketing photos wich are always too perfect).

WOW! That is cool! Interesting that they define it as a coin though.

Quote: Can we assume you are even more stoked now you finally have it in hand? Yup! It's a bit smaller than I was expecting, but it is certainly beautiful. Because it's a proof coin, it's hard to really capture all the details in a photograph. Quote: Interesting that they define it as a coin though. Well, they already have triangle coins, so why not a cylinder? More importantly, however, is the fact that it was actually minted like a coin (as opposed to just having silver poured into a mold or something like that). You can view a video on YouTube here that shows exactly how it was made (and why I don't think there will be many others like it made anytime soon).

I don't know about how you like the part of gold plate side of Mercury Barry, but after looking at it I think it lacked the details that the rest of it had.
For some reason, after looking at mine for a while, I prefer to flip it to the other side of the $50. It almost as though they rush into to complete.

Very interesting, not sure if I like it or not ....... but I think I do. Probably more impressive in hand. I'm thinking of soldering six Britannias together so I can have a " poor man's " Redux .

Wow - so many different thoughts I ended up confusing myself! First was - cool - a cylindrical coin! Second was noticing and liking the detailing on the 50.00 side. Third I noticed that for the Queen's sake, I hope Mercury was using plenty of deodorant since she is stationed (and staring up close) into his armpit! WHich leaves a largeer, open field below her. Fourth... I think they needed more detail in the gold area - sort of looks glued on since its not as detailed.
But man, the sides, the rest f the details of the design, the OGP ... very, very nice. Congrats on a beautiful piece.
