Think I just found my first DD coin. Probably not the condition I would have hoped for, but as a new collector and my first DD I'm still excited :) Confirmation of DD?

I don't think that's a DDO. I'm not sure if it's PMD or Machine Doubling or what.. But it doesn't look like a doubled die to me.
Let's see what the pros say.

Sorry I need clearer image to see what is going on for sure. From the pictures if could be coin damage. But not just sure right now.

It took a hit, you can see where something damaged the 9 & 4 by running between them.

...on the other hand I see thickness on the letters; which is consistent with a known variety of DDO for that year. Having said that, I would need clearer pics to know for sure. Don't be discouraged a LOT of people on this board automatically jump on the PMD bandwagon. I have had half a dozen coins attributed by TPGs as Varieties that were overwhelmingly voted on here as PMD.

I would like to see those examples as well. Most CCF members do not realize that there are other members who are much more qualified and have many more years of experience in varieties than most of the TPGs. Maineman is a prime example. His extensive knowledge on a wider range than just CPG varieties makes someone like him a valuable resource. He also searches coins on a daily basis, honing his skills along the way. AND HIS OPINIONS ARE FREE!

I agree. I think this is what the OP was seeing.

I also agree with this. The last one look interesting.

I would love to see the old threads along with the new attributions by the TPG's. that would be very educational.

Is there a reason you are taking photos of the coin inside of a 2x2? The photos would be much clearer without it. To me it looks a lot like Machine Doubling. Very common when compared to actual hub doubling. Some collect extreme examples of Machine Doubling, usually worth a few bucks. A vast majority do not.

I'm thinking it is damaged from a wrapping machine. The rim is parallel to the damage.
