Great Scot - its a "Holey-Penny"

Maybe the enterprising ebay vendor has the "Dump" portion also, so he knows its a "no dot" .

Not many of those around - yet !

Come on guys, It is perfectly obvious that there are no dots above or below the scrolls on that coin.

Oh hang on..... Where are the scrolls?

I know just the term to call this variety....

A washer.

I actually have a centre of a penny. It is probably a little too small to fit that hole. I'll post a pic later tonight.

The coin is a sevenpence.
I remember years ago somebody was making them as souvenirs by punching out the dunk of a Geo V penny and putting a sixpence in the space (sixpence plus penny makes sevenpence).
Value without the sixpence (silver) of maybe 5 cents.
