Technically, this is NCLT, but most 1-cent collectors who collect proof-like strikes will understand just how difficult a coin like this is to find... Apologies for the glare off the ICCS flip... I think this is the only one (that will show up in the ICCS 2014 population report)... yes, that is a nice coin. I have a couple of 1962 heavies, but ultra's are very rare. I wonder what criteria he uses for cameos and how does he measure them?

Is it the UHC that makes it hard to find or the PL66?
Edit: Sorry.. Googled a little, and I'm pretty sure it's the UHC that makes it pretty rare. Nice coin!

Good job getting your hands on it! I think I have just one UHC in my entire collection!

I have a complete run of PL-65 (or better) ultra heavy cameo proof-like cents, from 1959 to 1971... took almost 9 years to get them all.

What a nice coin and such a great effect in viewing those ULC's here...
It would be nice to see more of these 'ultra hard to find' ... UHC's here. SPP, Would you add a few more..
Maybe the forum should consider having a Sticky at the top for a lot of the really tough pieces that our members find?

Quote: Maybe the forum should consider having a Sticky at the top for a lot of the really tough pieces that our members find? At the very least, the CCF Numismatic Glossary here should be expanded to include Canadian terms. US grading companies and collectors use Cameo and Deep Cameo whereas Canadians tend to have three classifications, Cameo, Heavy Cameo, Ultra Heavy CameoUltra heavy cameos in proof-like, specimen and business strikes are inherently scarce, they represent the first strikes from a new (or reworked) set of dies, and the survival rate of the business strikes in gem grades makes them extremely tough. Of course, all proof struck coins are ultra heavy cameo.

Nice one! Nothing in the entire Elizabeth series can match the beauty of pristine HC and UHC coins IMO. Can you show the reverse, please?

I think that all SP $20 Gold were in UHC mode. ,..at least the ones of mine from 67 were.(Black Leather Case) Bought them at $35 a pop for the whole set directly from the mint in those days when gold or silver had not really moved yet...
BTW,..I melted a lot of gold and silver last year when it went over $1800/oz. Maybe that was my bad...but it seemed right at the time and I hadn't started on this forum or playing really with my coin collection.
I sold what I considered a lot of "early junk coin collecting",... and pieces that I felt would never move out of BV... I did check for varieties ,..and kept them though...but I probably missed a few lesser ones that went to melt..

Perhaps you were thinking that they were all SP strikes?

I must admit,..when I look at the 2 above SP $20 gold pieces, I don't see a difference in the cameo effect. To me,..All of my $20 gold were heavy cameos and no one would give me a dollar more than melt at any time...
The SP 64 must have been handled a bit to get that lower # and then it didn't help that it was also dropped once.
Unfortunately, ..Gold does not let you get away with dropping it...

The 1967 SP64 UHC was already holdered when I bought it, the SP67 HC was a different story....when I bought it, the guy had it in his hand, carefully, but it wasn't in any holder at that time.
