Who here has finished their Canada 10 cent album? Do you own a store that helps you come by these coins or do you just buy as you go? I just buy as I go and add when I can. I have 12 spots left to fill in my book and that's with all different mint marks, specialty, old and new portraits. Getting excited. Too bad the last 12 are going cost me over $1000 to get. Sadness.

I just started a 10c collection and got a long way to go lol... I'm going for quality in stead of speed so it's gonna be a long while.

I'm going for quality with the expensive ones because I will not upgrade them down the road but the less expensive one...the only criteria I had for the 1858 to 1940 was the date needed to be clearly visible and from 1940 to date....VF+ I will upgrade as time goes on. :-)

Which ones are you missing? Are you doing only business strikes or proofs/silver proofs as well?

Quote: Who finished their Canada ten cent album? Well... I almost have.. I have a complete set from 1896-2012, including the varieties. Some of the ones that kuh_85 has mentioned I have not got, like the 1969 large date.

Collector67,your recent discovery of two different 1889 varieties may prove to be a big hurdle for those who need to feel "complete" https://goccf.com/t/152255

Quote: True coinage axis, or a 180 rotation? @dialog_gvf - They're the same thing aren't they since the 'default' is medal orientation? @Nathancrh1 - I just use regular albums as well with pages for 2X2s or flips or slabs depending on whether the coin comes graded or not. @dbm - As long as collector 67's discovery doesn't make it into Charlton I'm okay! @collector67 - Well, my first hope is just that it's real and not counterfeit! Haven't sent it off for grading yet. I think you were calling this the Tall 9? It's a raw G4.

Yes a tall 9. What makes you think yours may be fake? Can you post a pic of the whole coin? Yes it's bitter sweet to discover a variety when it's this year, especially if becomes a recognized variety (an expensive hole to fill)
