I have 4 coins that I have no idea what they are worth, nor even their names. I know one is japanese and the other 3 are indian (I'm guessing).

We got them at my grandfathers house, and he was in world war 2 so I'm guessing they are from around the 50s as he traveled around after the war.

I have pictures of them, one of each side. Thanks for looking.

Hi Toby and welcome to the Forum!

The big silver coin looks to me like a Chinese republic Yuan Shi-Kai dollar of Year 3 (1914). This coin was essentially a Trade dollar and was restruck up to the 1950s. Contemporary forgeries exist - if it is genuine, it should weigh 26.4g and have a silver content of 89%. In this condition it would be worth bullion value, but it's a great find with an interesting story!

I'm sorry but I can't help with the three smaller coins. Please could you post a larger and clearer photo if possible?

Well I thought they were fairly clear, but then I had to resize them cause they were about 3 mbs. The camera we had also is a wide angle lense so its not optimal for macro shots. In 4 days when I get home I can use my digital camera and that might make a better shot.

We're also gonna try polishing the big one with silver polish so its nicer looking.

We polished it and it now has a silver color, turns out my grandpa went to both china and japan, so now idea which one its from.

EDIT: We weighed it on a fairly accurate scale and it was 26.7. Could the .3 difference be accounted by scale inaccuracy and dirt built up in it? Or is it likely a reproduction?

The two similar smaller coins are from Bhutan. A half dub if I remember correctly. Polishing the silver coin has destroyed any value it had I'm afraid.

Ya I was kinda worried about that, but the women here wanted to do it anyways. Oh well we can always sell it for bullion value if its authentic.
