I suppose the edge inscription of this coin is in Spanish. DIOS = GOD LIBERTAD = FREEDOM LEI = ? (No translation from Google) Do you know the meaning of "LEI"? Thank you for any help and advice. It's just a variant spelling, probably catalogued somewhere, but not in Krause that I can see. (Krause is very bad about edges, even though they're such an important identifier.) This is even more true considering the edge is one of the diagnostics used to check out fakes. And later, because the edge had important informations (maybe variants as well ?) as we have here. The coin was issued by the United States of Colombia. I like these Pesos and I think they're much scarcer than the 50 cents. Also below is a pix of my 1871 Bogota Peso.
