Very nice, wade. I can appreciate these as I've made them myself. Lately just buying world types.

In that case,...Maybe you'll have to work with some nice frosty silver dollars from George V...

Wade, these are awesome. I have seen them before and have always liked them. Did you make them or buy them?

Wow, that's quite the coincidence. My wedding band is actually a 1919 canadian 50 cents as well... couldn't get her to get a coin ring though, it was pushing it enough to have her accept that'd be my band :P

i bought a mandrel, hammer, punch set etc and was going to start working on making these myself but time constraints put a damper on my plans, so I ended up having them made.
cost (on top of the coin) was only $25 each. I liked this person's work because (a) he was 1/2 price of anyone else I talked to, and (b) mostly because the others I have seen are left tapered like the shape of the mandrel while he rounds everything off giving a balanced look.
the quick run down is punch a hole in the center of the coin, anneal it, then tappity tappity tap tap it all the way around the tapered mandrel - stretching the coin 90 degrees until it is flat.
ring size matters, I dont have the chart in front of me but I think half dollars are good up to about a 13.
I'm still waiting for the package to arrive, also included is a silver commemerative 1998 large cent turned pinky ring (will post pics once I get it)
i dont have specific permission to post the maker's contact info but if anyone is interested please PM and I will put you in touch

If I ever got married I could see having something like this done for the wedding bands. If whoever I am marrying was ok with that, of course. :)

Truth is I would love my wedding bands to be something like this.... and I think my girlfriend would think it was interesting as well..
Is there a way that you could provide the contact information for the person that did the work... I would like to see if they are interested in doing some more...
I really don't wear jewelry but this would be something I would really like!
And if a 50 cent piece can do up to size 13 I should be good...
