Just visited my mother in law and she pulled out these two huge PCS albums filled with State Quarters. The presentation is nice. Each sheet has two or three somewhat relevant stamps, state flags, etc. However, I could not believe what she paid for these. Each release was $14.95 plus $2 shipping. Close to $1000 before she cancelled in the first year of the ATBs. Don't know what I'm going to do with them.

I had to go look that up -- never heard of them.

(sigh) Any kids in the family that want a keepsake from Grandma?

It's a nice looking set but a thousand dollars....? ouch

Please dont shoot the messenger. I'm sure they were well intended, and should be cherished as such.

So the most they are worth is $150? Well at least the money was spent over 10 years, so the impact wasn't too bad. Just wish I had discovered it earlier. She told me to hang on to them because they'd be worth a lot some day.
Rest in Peace

Just reading this has left me with that 'sucker-punched' feeling I used to get whenever my mother threw out some art pottery or a book with art prints because 'they're junk'. My mother would rather collect toy mice in dresses --

She thinks collecting coins is stupid. She warns me all the time about how I will be taken advantage of by some sharp dealer. Better I should by toy mice in dresses.

Oldskool we must have the same MIL. A few months back my MIL did the same thing. Gave me her State Quarter collection like it was a complete set of Morgans.(lol) I took them and agreed with her, Afterall it was the thought that counted. She was so proud that she gave me a coin collection. And that made me love her that much more. Now lust have to see where it fits with all this 1800's junk. (lol)
