I've never heardthis name around either. I'd go out on a limb and say its a basement slabber possibly trying to start an attributing buisness. It's housed in a generic Coin World slab that I buy to keep my raw coins in.. So someone's buying empty slabs and has a label maker... Lol... Because the website on the back of the slab actually leads you to a page. They even "attribute already graded coins".... By sticking a label over the PCGS, NGC etc label... Ya... Right.. Just want I want some basement sticker covering the genuine label... Lol, they don't even list a grade, just the VAM...

Variety Slabbing Service is as far from basement slabbers as you can get. He is a member over on Vamworld. This would be my go to when slabbing Morgans by VAM number. Edit to add - VSS attributed coins are accepted by Heritage auctions now.

They do NOT grade only authenticate and correctly attribute VAM varieties, a very valuable service to many, especially as NGC is getting so many VAMs wrong on their holders, ANACS has an excellent track record with John Roberts doing their attributing. PCGS is also okay but they don't attribute all that many VAMs. http://www.varslab.comJohn Baumgart is the main guy behind Varslab, Jeff Oxman works with this company as well, and Jeff is probably the world's second authority on VAMs behind to Leroy VanAllen. The new VSS Seal is like a CAC or a sticker that can be added to an already graded slabbed coin to correct any TPG mis-attributions, verify the label or even add the variety designation to a slab that doesn't have the VAM listed.

I'd have to agree with that statement. That said, John Roberts at ANACS certainly belongs in the Top 5 regarding VAMs, and so does John Baumgart. True story: I met John (Baumgart) at FUN last January. He walked up to talk to Twohawks (who shared CCF's booth), saw a really nice toner in Twohawks' case, whipped out his point-and-shoot and shot a flawless color image of the vibrant toning. Here I am, all full of the need to use a dSLR, dedicated lens, axial lighing and beamsplitter glass to coax decent color out of a Morgan, and this guy I never saw before wanders up and duplicates my best with a handheld Canon P&S. Did I mention he's a terrific coin photographer too? Seriously, though, there is no better Morgan (or Bust Half) attributor alive than John Baumgart.

Wow.. Ok, I definitely retract my previous statement. I guess I have to get out more as well, as I'd never heard of him either... And I do VAM my Morgan's... . A small CAC like sticker on an already slabbed coin I wouldn't mind a all... But that's not the example show on his website, it was a sticker covering the whole TPG label... That I wouldn't like at all...

Look again, he doesn't cover the TPG label, his sticker is on the back covering the hologram.

It appears that there are stickers on both sides of the slab, including one covering the TPG label.

On the VAMslabs he uses a Coin World Shell and the stickers are on both sides, but on the VAMseal where he stickers a TPG slab it is only on the Reverse over the hologram.
