These must come from a set so is it possible that there are 15000 of these out there and we just have to find the right set.

I understand most or all have been found mixed in with magnetic coins in mint rolls. There are still fresh mint rolls to be found occasionally so some more will probably be found. But this has been a much sought after coin for 5 odd years and the 2006Ps are scarce to begin with--they were rarely found coin roll hunting. I suspect that the number still to be found is getting to be quite small.
Still, the last public sales in MS65 were around $1500. $12,000 is kind of off the charts.

@JeyRey2000 Yes, these come from a specific set. Send me a message and I will let you know.

I declined buying one of these a little while ago... instead, I used the money to buy a mint state 1955 NSF cent, which I think is rarer and much cooler....

I still have my MS66. I have a roll of the 2006P's and I am debating whether or not to crack it open.

That`s a tough call DD. I cracked open a roll about 2 years ago that I bought for around $350. I pulled no non-mags. It was fun though disappointing to crack open. After a lot of effort, I finally sold them all off on ebay and made a little money. Definitely not worth the time though. As I recall the roll was pretty good quality-wise, yielding 2xMS67, about 10xMS66, about 10xMS65, 2x MS64(grading errors by me) and the rest I sold ungraded.
