We have all seen the SCAMS where we have a roll with a silver dime on the end. And we KNOW they are scams, mostly because what bank or person would roll a dime in with the pennies?

My latest project as a dealer is to go through the accumulation of bags and rolls of cents bought over a 20 year period. Some are well well searched. Some are just what you would expect from modern "casual collecting" of wheat cents. Some are pretty cool and most of came from someones "Grandpa", because they were obviously collected in the 40s forward.

Anyway, imagine my surprise when I opened a roll of cents and in the MIDDLE of the roll is a CLAD 1967 dime.

So you can all stop looking now. I found the only TRUE one in a million roll with a dime, legitimately, rolled into it.

I've found dimes in penny rolls in the past, purchased from a completely average London Drugs customer service desk.

I have found a total of 3 dimes in penny rolls here in Canada. I have gone through about a dozen boxes.

It was a British 1948 Penny though

I usually prefer to search BWRs when I hunt .50 cent rolls, but if there are CWRs available, I will sometimes take them because I always find that 1) they are over-filled so I make money on them by removing the extra cents, or 2) there are dimes in the rolls so I make money by replacing .10 cents with .01 cent. I remember one hunt I did with CWRs of cents where I literally made about $4.00 on dimes alone out of that whole bunch of rolls.

I've gone through ~2,500 Lincoln Cent roles the last three years, ~50% customer rapped, and have found three dimes deep within. I remember coming across a dime or two in rolls many, many years ago when my Mom would open them (she wasn't a collector).
