I recently bought some of the Lighthouse Everslab generic coin holders for some raw silver dollars that I had. I wanted to buy more Coin World slabs, but the only insert available now is that awful dark green color. No Thank You. So, I discovered these while doing a search for other brands. I will say that the Coin World slabs are of much better quality (better grade of plastic), but these do have black inserts and are fashioned after the NGC holders. The label for these is also larger. So I made some new labels to go with these, which I think turned out pretty good. I added a barcode and number purely for aesthetics- nothing more. I think the end result is basic and simple without being too busy. Here are examples of the Morgan and Peace dollar labels: Here's a shot of two of my raw coins, now generically encapsulated :

Very nice. I rather like the green inserts for the Coin World slabs. Thats what I have most of my silver dollars in.

haha, when I scan the morgan with my barcode reader app, it turns out to be: Format: EAN_8 Type: Product with serial number 19201733 The Peace dollar, on the other hand, is: Format: UPC_E Type: Product Serial number 01572797

Although I very much like what you're doing here, I'm still a fan of CoinEdge holders since they're airtight and all but indestructible. Having gone to this effort already, you really ought to utilize those barcodes integrated into a comprehensive hardware/software solution for your collection. Job creep.

I only have 5 or so in this type of slab. When I first started I used Coin World premiere coin slabs, so all the other ones are in those. The Coin World slabs are of much better quality, though. The lighthouse slabs are very light, which makes them feel cheap. However, I like their presentation much better. I will probably use the lighthouse brand from now on just for silver dollars. On the other hand, coin albums are beginning to appeal to me more and more. I may go that route for my Morgan and Peace dollar sets and keep all the extras in these generic slabs. Decisions, decisions.

Darth Morgan - how did you make your labels? What did you print them on? So many to a page?

Quote: Darth Morgan - how did you make your labels? What did you print them on? So many to a page? I made them from scratch in Photoshop CS5. I have since modified the Morgan label. I just used the same template- altering only the date and mint mark. After that it was just a matter of copying & pasting them all onto one page for printing. Here is an example of one grouping I did. If you would like to download the full-size version of these labels I can load them on imageshack. Just let me know. I haven't made labels for every date and mint mark- just the ones I have so far, I think.

Oh, I forgot to mention that these new labels were modified to fit Coin World Premiere coin holders, not the Everslab holders. I went back to the Coin World Premier coin holders because of their better quality AND because they can be opened with ease. I could never re-open the Everslabs. The instructions said that they can be, but I was unable to. It was like they were bolted together. I like to be able to take my coins out in order to study them closely and for the purposes of photography. Here are some other labels I've made. This one was a label I made for last year's Secret Santa. My gift to CCF member "murty" was a BU 1922 Peace dollar. Here are some others. As you can see, they all use the same basic template.

Thanks for showing me. I have bought a bunch of Everslabs and a nice box for my Canadian Silver Dollars. I don't want to hand write on the labels. They have a free download program on Lighthouse but I cannot figure out how to bold and change the font with it. What weight of paper/cardstock did you use?
