I have had these for a while and finally had the chance and extra money to get them graded. Nice notes that I've mostly acquired off of ebay. The 1919 Banque Provincale is #6151412 - the rare on with the orange back. The 1954 has mismatched serial #'s

Concerning the Newfoundland note - I bought it on ebay earlier this year. The guy who sold it said that he inherited it from his uncle who was a banker in the states somewhere in New England. (he was not a collector and had no interest in the bill) I bought it for $150, which was his reserve. It does have some writing on the reverse - says "Steamer Bruce, May 8th, 1910" That is why the note has "Net" grade. The paper on it is really nice, thick and you could feel the ripples as you would in a new note. It's sad that it has the writing on it but I think that if you read the Charlton book, it says that this issue was given to maritime businesses. But the grade is still very nice. It's definitely worth more than what I paid.

I think it's cool that Steamer Bruce is written on that note. The ship was built for the Newfoundland Railway and was lost on March 24, 1911.

I did not know that about Steamer Bruce - I thought it was a nickname of some man. Now I will look this info up.

Well someday in the future, probably in 6 years or so, then I will be putting these banknotes up for auction again. But I am thinking that an auction house would be a better outlet then ebay. What kind of expenses can I expect if I put them up on Torex or another auction? 25% of final bid or is that dreaming? Thanks for the offers though, I always have my eye out for notes like these.

I am curious as well to Auction HOUSE prices and ways to sell...commisions to pay, etc...I agree certain numismatic material needs to be sold that way and not local,,or bay of e's.........

Gee, everyone wants to know what I paid. Ok - $100 for the mismatch $1. To get it graded was another $35. Recently I saw another note on ebay that was graded AU and that person wanted nearly $800. Honestly, I don't think it's worth that much unless - I have the highest graded. What are your thoughts on value?
