I was given some coins and told to see what I can get for them to be able to buy some things I need for my house. I have multiple Kennedy half dollars all between 1964 and 1970. I have a 1886 Morgan dollar. I have a liberty dollar. A susan b Anthony silver dollar. and a couple other dollar coins. they are all at my parents right now but I will get them in a bit to add some more detail, my dad is checking them out right now. what am I looking at value wise so far? I know NOTHING about coins or what to do with them to even get anything for them. Please help, any little bit of info is going to be helpful. Thank you

Without knowing mint/condition of the Morgan dollar it's hard to say. Liberty dollar? Do you mean the Peace dollar? Or the Seated Liberty dollar? The JFK value will depend on what silver happens to be worth. The Susan B Anthony isn't really silver, and is only worth one dollar.

A lot of it is going to depend on the condition of the coin. Without knowing that the silver coins like the kennedys and morgan will have their silver value at least. What year and mint mark is the Susan B Anthony dollar? If its circulated unless its a near date 79 p it will just be worth the 1 dollar face value

How do I add Pictures? I already allowed emails from users. All are in good condition, all details are still there, no smoothing or anything like that.... dirty but good. I will go get them now and see about getting some more detail and pictures

Use the reply to topic link then the upload pictures link. You might need to resize them with the optimizer. You cant sell until you get more posts though but you can still post pics asking for values

Broseph, he can't get offers until he's been here a lot longer. 90 days and 250 posts? Do not encourage a rules violation that will get him and someone else kicked off.

I forgot about that,
jgfindring is right. You need 250 posts to sell here. That being said, people can still tell you what they are worth once you get picts up
Also, I noticed you said the coins were "dirty"
DO NOT CLEAN THEM!
So many people make that mistake.

If when you say "Liberty Dollar," you mean the NORFED dollars, then these are best sold on ebay as they bring a decent premium over just the silver bullion value. If it is a 1998 NORFED, these are hard to get and will bring a large premium on ebay.

No problem Raymo - these are beautiful in hand. And he made a lot of different REV designs - including some in gold.
The guy making these was accused of counterfeiting by the feds - and is still out walking around - likely, after 2 years (!) charges will be dropped. Its seems (maybe) truth behind it all is that the guy's hard silver medals were becoming so very popular and were a threat to the worthless paper we use. There were millions of NORFED medals in circulation - no one else's silver bullion have come that close by far. So the feds really just wanted to shut him down until people forgot about these.
However, there is a new guy making the new Liberty Dollars (as they are now called) that look pretty the same. Just google "new liberty dollars." He changed all the particulars the court case described as being the offending parts of the NORFED coins.
I also think they will retain their value b/c. truth be told, outside of the mainstream media (although they have taken a turn on this also), Bernard was a hero that was 'beat up" by the system for trying to get real money put back into use.
This is why his stuff is more expensive than ASEs (and made on the exact same planchets from what I understand). I was fortunate enough to be living in a town where they actually used these pretty regular and actually had a vending machine where you could exchange a 20.00 bill for the silver. Back then silver was something like 14-16 an ounce, but everyone accepted these rounds as being 20.00 in the local economy. Too bad I did not save more of them!
Now the medals are likely still in this area, but hoarded away b/c they have - and likely always will be - valuable for the history and story behind them.

Quote: If when you say "Liberty Dollar," you mean the NORFED dollars, I am sure he means a Silver Eagle. All the non collectors on craigslist call them " liberty silver dollars " like Walking Liberty halves.

A way to find true value is to find the coin on ebay and use advanced search to see what they are actually selling for.

"Liberty" is such a vague word to describe coins because a LOT of coins have that written on them.

@denco I should have thought of that As you can tell by my avatar, I tend to always think NORFED when I hear Liberty Dollar. As posted - they were all over here and, in fact, there was one specifically made for the local epicenter of these - Chambersburg, PA.
