The date on the 1845 looks interesting. Nice trade though!

$200 face value in dateless buffaloes for 9 Seated halves in average VF. Fair trade. I would prefer the 9 seateds, although the numismatic book value may be a tad less. 4,000 dateless buffaloes is an awful lot to decide what to do with them. I would think the halves would be easier to trade, unless you were doing a study on the nickels with the assistance of XRF and / or polarized light to figure the date of the dateless coins.

"Aren't no dates worth 25 to 50 cents?" Only the 'd' and 's' no dates.....I just spend my 'p' mint no dates at face, though, I think they go for 10 cents on ebay

Weerdsteev, this is weird, (sorry for the pun), at the Chicago Show this past summer we ran into a guy that had a huge amount, 20 gal. of Buffalo's. He was in the elevator with us. This was the same hotel a number of the CCF members stayed at .We also saw him at the coin show. Next, we meet the same gentleman at the desk to check out and said he sold them for 2 or 3 times face. The bottom line, the coins were bought for use in Native American tribes in AZ for use. Not sure how but, I was amazed at how this happened.

Nice trade indeed. Converting nickel into silver ... the old alchemists of the day are jealous. Quote: .....I just spend my 'p' mint no dates at face, though, I think they go for 10 cents on eBay I just sold a lot of 20 Philly mint no-date Buffalo on the Bay for $4.25 plus $1.99 shipping ... so the buyer paid $0.31 each for them. bpoc1: That is odd, but it wasn't my guy you ran into. My guy just hoards all of the nickels he can get his hands on, for whatever his reasons.

It looks like $11.25 shipping to me when I go to the link you provided. That makes it $14.50 or about 14.5 cents per nickel. I'm paying .14 cents from a trusted supplier I've used for over 10 years. The coins are separated for me and there are never any culls - which is good because my seated half guy wouldn't tolerate it for very long if he received anything other than legitimate, clean no dates. Check that ebay listing again - the guy even states that some of his nickels have been Nic-a-dated. Where P mints are concerned, a Nic-a-dated nickel is a cull.

Is that a repunched "O" on the first 1859-O? and is that 1845 repunched in the date as well? Awesome coins!
